This set was made sometime during the 1940s, so post-WW2, and is based on Old Maid, except it used the counties and towns of England.

I'm pretty sure I've scanned the entire set, so you could even print it out and play!

These scans are actual size (as many cards as I could fit onto the scanner) and 300dpi resolution, unretouched, so you can crop and edit to your heart's content!

ADDENDUM - I don't have the rules for this game. Sorry (thought I had...)

I think they make great backgrounds!

Don't you just love the White Rabbit? Isn't he your favourite?

Well, here he is - the original Tenniel illustrations were the best!

And here't the flute-playing dog from the nursery rhyme Old Mother Hubbard. A superb engraved image.

Here's a street scene in old Soho, in the centre of London (just around the corner from Raymond's Revue Bar).

You won't be seeing scenes like this much longer - they're cleaning up Soho so all the strip joints will be disappearing - along with much of the character.

At the top of the alleyway (where you see the lamp post) is Berwick Street - tradionally one of the oldest fruit & veg markets, now a haven of costume jewellery and fabric shops.
